Sinophoria Chinese Culture for Business
An Introductory Chinese culture and Mandarin Chinese language course specially designed for business people.
DISTINCTIVE PRACTICAL APPROACH
Most China culture training courses for businesspeople focus on so-called Confucian psychology, explaining that ancient principles mean Chinese people think fundamentally differently from Europeans. We think this approach is unhelpful and only increases damaging feelings of confusion and alienation. Instead, we focus on explaining the practical differences that make life in modern China unique.
We often find that UK business people and their Chinese partners have an inaccurate impression of each other’s lives. Our course will introduce you or your staff to the practical aspects of contemporary life in China to promote understanding and communication. Participants will also learn about the common pitfalls of business communication and how to avoid them, and the best ways to proactively manage relationships in order to nip any problems in the bud.
Since your partners in China will be impressed by even a little knowledge of Chinese language, we’ll also prime participants in a few basic phrases and give them all an individually translated Chinese name.
STRUCTURE OF OUR DAY COURSE
Our day course is designed to run from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm with two sessions in the morning and one in the afternoon. However, if you would us to modify the course in order to fit with your timetable or availability, let us know, we can be flexible.
|Session 1||Session 2||Lunch||Session 3|
|Modern Chinese state||Friendship and business through food||Etiquette for Chinese business dining||Chinese counterparts’ lives: education, working life, family life and leisure|
Early booking is advised for our China culture training courses, which can be delivered on your premises.
Because the course is interactive, we recommend a minimum of 3 people, and a maximum of 12 people per day course. If you want us to provide a course for fewer or more people, we are happy to discuss that with you.
If you would like to include a Chinese lunch as part of the course, during which participants will be taught Chinese business dining etiquette, please let us know and we’ll be happy to liaise with a local Chinese restaurant on your behalf to help with ordering the food.
